McCall is delighted with the news as the player had been attracting interest from a host of other clubs and said :”I am absolutely delighted we have managed to get Nicky to stay as we believe he’s the best right back in this league. There was a lot of interest in him however he showed a desire to stay with us. The reception he has had from the fans has made a big impact on him and it shows what fan power can do. The full backs will be crucial to us in what we are looking to do next season.

"I have made Nicky the new club captain as although he is young he leads by example. The way he gets up and down the pitch shows he has a great engine. He is exciting to watch and will inspire others in the team.

"This is the calibre of player we want to keep and add to the squad and to continue doing that we need our fans to get behind us and keep buying the season tickets.” A delighted Devlin said :”It’s an honour to be made captain of this club especially at my age. Its something I am really looking forward to. Despite our poor form last season I thoroughly enjoyed being here and once I knew the manager wanted to keep me It was an easy decision to stay.

The fans made me feel really welcome last season and the reception they gave me at the awards nights was incredible and even since then encouraging me to stay. Their backing means a lot.

There was other interest however this is where I want to be and with the players that are staying here and the ones we will add there’s no doubt we are aiming to challenge for the title next season.” <p class="nocomments"> <div class="inner-navigation"> <div class="list-inline pull-left"> Social Media: <span class='st_facebook' displaytext='Facebook'></span> <span class='st_twitter' displaytext='Tweet'></span> <span class='st_linkedin' displaytext='LinkedIn'></span> <span class='st_pinterest' displaytext='Pinterest'></span> <span class='st_googleplus' displaytext='Google +'></span> <span class='st_email' displaytext='Email'></span>
