Young Killie star David Watson is eying up his first game on the Hampden turf if his side can secure a Scottish Cup semi-final berth this weekend.

Derek McInnes will take his team to Pittodrie on Saturday to face Aberdeen with a place at the national stadium up for grabs.

Midfielder Watson, 19, who broke into the first team last year, has yet to feature for the club at Hampden after only making the squad for their League Cup semi last season.

The Prestwick-born star now wants to go one step further and represent his side on the biggest stage.

He said: “I’m really excited for it. It's a great chance for us to get a trip to Hampden and take our families.

“It would be massive to play at Hampden, I’ve never done it before. I was in the squad last year but I didn’t make the bench so it would be good to go and play at the national stadium.

“I’ve been to a few Scotland games and that’s about all the experience I’ve had.

“The dream is to bring cup silverware to the club, we’ve not had it for a while since 2012 so hopefully we can do it this season.

“One of the targets for the season was to win a trophy, so hopefully we can bring that.”
