The new location for the expansion of a popular Ayr restaurant has been revealed.

Tempura is set to move across South Ayrshire and open a new premises in Troon.

The business already has a restaurant and takeaway in Ayr, as well as takeaways in Kilmarnock and Prestwick.

Earlier this month, Tempura confirmed that its Ayr restaurant, in the town's Beresford Terrace, would be closing for refurbishment.

They have also purchased the former Electric Bakery site, in Prestwick, and will transform it into a new production kitchen.

It was also teased that they had submitted offers on two further properties- which have now been confirmed as Troon and Irvine.

The owners of the eatery have now announced that the Troon restaurant, bar and takeaway will be located on Portland Street, at the site of the former Tinto tapas, which was also previously known as Smugglers and Fullartons.

An opening date has not yet been announced, but owners say it will bring between 15 and 20 jobs to the area.

They said: "We are delighted to announce that our first new property we will be taking over is the old Fullartons/Tintos building in Troon…

"This will be a fully licensed premises offering an all day food, drinks and takeaway service…

"We believe this will create around 15-20 new full and part time jobs in Troon so please keep an eye out on our socials for recruitment posts when we are ready…

"We will be carrying out an extensive refurbishment on the full property.
