THE community group behind plans to breathe new life into a former cinema in Prestwick has announced plans for a special Hallowe'en film festival in the town.
The Friends of the Broadway's frightfully fun festival will be held from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29.
Tickets are now on sale for Hallowe’en (18), Ghostbusters (12A), Little Shop of Horrors (PG), the Thing (18), Bettlejuice (12A) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (12A).
The venue will be Prestwick Academy, which the Broadway team will turn into a proper cinema with raked seating, a big sound system and a huge screen.
For the film festival, there will be pre-movie introductions by the group’s chief film booker, a guest performance from the Broadway’s spooky cinema organist and a professional photographer to take your picture.
This should be a film-going experience like no other and everyone is invited.
The venue is fully accessible, concessions will be on sale on the foyer and tickets start from £5 for members and £7.50 full price..
The Broadway team will be outside the 1930s venue in Main Street this Saturday, October 21, to sell tickets and to share a new door display charting the history and future of the much-loved building.
All proceeds and donations will go towards bringing the Broadway cinema back.
