OUR People, Our Place - the initiative to encourage residents of Girvan to shape their town, will run next week.
From Monday, June 4 until Saturday, June 9 the Council and partners including NHS Ayrshire & Arran, South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue and the voluntary sector are coming together to deliver local services in the heart of Girvan
The aim is to make it easier for the community to access the public services they need.
Our People, Our Place will see the partners using Girvan Academy, Invergarven, Girvan Primary, Sacred Heart Primary and Girvan Community Centre as local community hubs where a wide range of drop-in services, as well as targeted support, will be available to families and individuals.
Services will be available to everyone living in the area – not just those with children in the schools.
Drop-in services including benefits support, employability, skills, health and wellbeing, housing support, mental health support for young people, and social work will be available at various times throughout the week.
The week will end with a fun and information day where all the partners will be present to provide support and advice and there will also be activities for children and young people.
