GIRVAN and South Carrick Community First Responders are fundraising to help them continue their work.
The voluntary organisation who tent to patients who have called 999 are trained by the ambulance service and carry kit bags containing a defibrillator, oxygen and first aid equipment. A gofundme account has been set up by volunteers who hope to raise £5000.
Mark Bradley said: “We cover rural areas where ambulances may be a fair distance from,as I am sure you are aware if someone goes into cardiac arrest those first few minutes are vital if the patient is to have any chance of survival.
“We are asking for donations to aid our day to day running. We want to help our local villages get defibrillator so all can use in a emergency. Please support us in any way you can.”
