ONE local Troon resident has spoken out about the ongoing outrage at the parking situation in Troon.

Iain Stewart, a local resident in the town told the Troon Times that he wanted far more pro-active traffic wardens in Troon following our story on the parking situation in the town.

Iain's wife is disabled and he told us it is 'pet-hate' of his that he is unable to get a disabled parking bay.

He said: "My wife is disabled and I am finding it incredibly hard when going into the town.

"There is constantly disabled bays in the town being used by people without badges, I have spoken to traffic wardens several times and their answer was just to move me out of a loading only space because I could not get into a disabled bay as it was being occupied by someone without a badge.

"They just say that they will 'get to the cars' but they don't.

"It is absolutely constant that disabled bays are being occupied by people who shouldn't be, the parking as a whole is terrible. It is very rare to see any traffic wardens in Troon other than the odd occasion.

"I would like to see more traffic wardens and being far more pro-active and I would like to see more disabled bays. The whole issue has became a pet-hate for me."

Councillor Peter Convery told us last week that he would be perusing more traffic wardens in the area and the Ayrshire Roads Alliance also confirmed the images of parking on double yellow lines would be examined.
