THE FARMERS' Market will soon return and Craigiemains Home and Garden Centre and Ballantrae Development Group will join together to run the series.

The centre and development group - which is a sub-committee of the community council- are teaming up for these events which will launch on Sunday, April 17.

Susan Crosthwaite of the Ballantrae Development Group has been taking the lead in organising the Markets on behalf of the Ballantrae Development Group in partnership with Craigiemains.

Speaking about the event she said: "We’ve had a great reaction from customers and stallholders to our Farmers’ Markets in the past with Craigiemains being an ideal venue.

"For the first Farmers’ Market of the year we have brought together a range of suppliers and producers to give customers an opportunity to taste and purchase great local food and drink.

"There will be tastings and the ever popular raffle of the Hamper with produce from all the suppliers."

In addition to the goods on sale at the market, at Craigiemains, visitors will also find a coffee shop, gifts, books, garden supplies, a children’s play area, the miniature train and the Visitor Information Point containing ideas for visits to places of interest and activities within easy reach of Ballantrae.

To complement the three Farmers’ Markets in 2016, Ballantrae’s extremely successful Festival of Food and Drink will be repeated on Sunday, June 12.

Locally registered and fully insured food producers who would like to be involved in one of the future Ballantrae Farmers’ Markets or the Ballantrae Festival of Food and Drink should contact Susan Crosthwaite on 01465831363 or email susan@cossescountryhouse.com.

The market on April, 17 will run from 11am until 3pm.
