UPBEAT Girvan FC manager Lawrie Dinwoodie is hoping Saturday's cup success can help spark a revival in their fortunes.
The Hamilton Park hosts won their Macron Scottish Junior Cup third round tie against Muirkirk in dramatic circumstances on Saturday.
They defeated the East Ayrshire side 'Kirk 6-5 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw.
Patterson said: "We played well and took our chances, but also missed some good opportunities. It's good to reach the last 32 of the Scottish Cup and there's a lot of decent teams in it. We have been playing well in a lot of games but just not making the most of our openings and that is something we must aim to do."
More cup entertainment will come on Saturday as Girvan face Kilsyth Rangers away from home in the Ardagh Group West of Scotland Cup.
Added the manager: "They are the same league as us and not a bad side. It will be a tough tie, but hopefully we can go there and get a result.
"The most important thing this season is to try and make sure we stay in the Championship."
