WHITLETTS Victoria's match at Saltcoats Victoria on Saturday was postponed after vandals broke into the ground and vandalised the changing room at Campbell Park.

Not ideal preparation for Whitletts who host promotion favourites Irvine Victoria at Dam Park this Saturday. Kick off is at 2pm.

Meanwhile Whitletts Victoria AFC progressed to the last 16 of the Ayrshire Amateur Cup with a 5-3 win over Largs Thistle AFC at Ayr Academy Astro.

Tony Balfour scored four goals inside the first half hour.

The North Ayrshire side reduced the leeway to 4-2 before Michael young added a fifth. Thistle added a third late on but it was Vics, who finished the game with nine men after Mark Simpson and Colin Roach saw red, who progressed to the third round.

A young Vics Under-21 side put up a valiant display in the West of Scotland Premier League game at King George V Park, despite going down 3-0 to crack side Harmony Row.

There were a number of positives to be taken from the performance against the 5 times Scottish Cup winners especially the performance of Matthew McClung in goal and Man of the Match Logan Dunlop.

Saturdays sees the Young Vics face another tough match when they travel to play a Barrhead Youths side in the Scottish Cup who reached the final of the competition last season, only to lose out to Rutherglen Glencairn.

This level of youth football over the years has proven to be a huge stepping stone for many players into the world of junior football and will only benefit players in their overall development .,
