THERE is to be more bin disruption for South Ayrshire as more strikes are announced.

Unite, the union has said there will be two 30 minute strikes each day from May 24 until June 5.

Householders are being asked to put their bins out on their normal collection day as the majority of bins will be emptied.

On the strike days, some staff on the early shift will stop working at 7:45am-8:15am and there will be another half hour stoppage for the backshift 7:45pm-8:15pm, but any backlog with be dealt with as soon quickly as possible.

During the recent week-long strike action the Council minimised disruption by emptying household green bins. There were also replacement uplifts for householders who missed brown bin collections and this continues as brown bins missed on 16,17,18 May will be emptied this weekend, 28-29 May.

Excess waste can be taken to one of the household waste recycling centres at Ayr, Maybole, Troon and Girvan. These centres are open as normal.
