A RAVE took place on a Prestwick street as residents made the most of their daily exercise during the coronavirus lockdown.

Neighbours were spotted along Mossbank raving as music blared out of speakers, yesterday afternoon.

The spontaneous party erupted after former Madisons owner Mareia Mohan set up speakers to blast tunes “full bang” to entertain her friends kids who stay a few doors down, and give them a break from home schoolwork.

The keen clubber was raving to the tunes from her speaker, when another neighbour popped out, before several more including elderly residents were out jumping up and down on the street.

Mareia has hailed the moment as the best 10 minutes of lockdown, and has vowed to get her neighbours moving outside again.

She told the Advertiser: “My friend Stephanie lives a few doors up and I was texting her back and forth about the lock down.

“Within five minutes my neighbour came out and joined in all from their own gardens. Then Kevin from Marchburn Ave heard it and drove past and took the video.

“Peter and Hollie from further up the street came out then other elderly neighbours.

“It was the best 10 minutes I’ve had of the lockdown.

“Every few days myself and our lockdown street of Mossbank will rave as I am a raver.”

A neighbour, Kevin from Marchburn Avenue a street down heard it and drove past to take a video.

The clip has caught the attention of one of Scotland’s top electronic acts DJ Rankin shared the video on their page. DJ Cutchty Cash also shared the video which has racked up 5,000 views in less than 24 hours.
