MAYBOLE Juniors FC were visited by a sporting star for the grand opening of their brand new hospitality suite.

Gold medalist, Kayleigh Haggo was the special guest to cut the ribbon as the facility opened at Ladywell Stadium.

New hospitality cabins have been created as well a new shop serving half-time snacks.

The facility is set to create a better match day experience for all at the club.

Carlo Walker, manager of the team said: “The new hospitality cabins are for players, supporters and committee.

“It will enhance their match-day time at the stadium before, during and after games.”

He added: “It will, hopefully, help bring the football club and the local community closer together by offering them these facilities.

“We also hope that the new youth teams, headed up by Alex Coughtrie, will be able to use the facilities for meetings and fundraising.

“The new shop will allow customers to be served and sit in the cabin as it now connected.”

The club’s committee secured funding of £1,000 at last month’s Maybole and North Carrick Villages Decision Day.

They used the funds to equip an empty Portakabin within the grounds at Maybole Juniors.

Kayleigh achieved a gold meal at the World Para-Athletics Championship in Dubai where she competed in the 100m RR3 (race running) and set a new world record.
