A SCOTLAND bowling side featuring three Ayrshire aces are celebrating after landing one of the top prizes in the indoor game.

Prestwick brothers Darren and Andrew Weir and Blair Davidson who plays out of Ardrossan, helped steer the Scotland Under-25 gents team to success in the British Isles Series in Stanley, Durham on Saturday and Sunday.

Scotland won two out of their three games and were unbeaten throughout the weekend.

They drew 76-76 with England in the opener before going on to defeat Ireland and Wales in their other two matches, bowling brilliantly in the process.

Darren, one of Ayrshire’s most successful bowlers in recent years, was delighted with the success and it was encouraging to have such a strong Ayrshire representation.

He said: “Buzzing to have won the U25 Indoor British Isles Series with a great bunch of Scottish lads.

Added Blair Davidson: “Brilliant weekend away in Stanley with the Scotland under 25 team and even better to be crowned British champs - whole team was brilliant from start to finish.
