A DALRY man is facing trial accused of battering another man in the town.

Fraser Robertson, of Peden Avenue, Dalry, is said to have carried out the assault in his home street.

On December 12, 2018, Robertson allegedly attacked David Fraser, by punching him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

And it’s claimed that Robertson, 26, committed the offence whilst on bail, having been released in connection with another Kilmarnock Sheriff Court case in May 2018.

The case against Robertson called at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this week for a pre-trial hearing.

Defence solicitor Peter Murray, representing Robertson, said: “There is no evidence capable of agreement, there are no defence witnesses and no special defences.”

Procurator Fiscal Depute Craig Wainwright, prosecuting, asked Sheriff Michael Hanlon to continue the case to the trial, which is assigned for next month.
