The cast of The Gaiety’s family pantomime recently enjoyed a Friday afternoon at South Corton Farm, visiting their headline sponsors ‘The Coo Shed’.

Meeting customers, tasting the home-made treats and sampling the fresh farm milk, the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk experienced the real-life version of the dairy that’s a classic set in the iconic pantomime story, and joined in with The Coo Shed’s current promotion of ‘Coovember’, encouraging people to drink more fresh milk by posting photos of ‘milkmoostaches’ online.

The pantomime cast, made up of Chris Forbes [Scot Squad], Karen Bartke [Scot Squad], Gavin John Wright [River City], Kirsty Malone [Sunshine On Leith], David McGowan [Trust Me] and Jillian Cunningham [The Bee Eaters], arrived in colourful costume and in full character, exploring The Coo Shed and trying out their milk vending machines in ‘The Milk Hoose’. They enjoyed the milk so much that they bought a few bottles each to take home to their friends and family.

This year’s pantomime at The Gaiety marks a new venture for the charity-run theatre, as this is their first in-house production since re-opening in 2012. They have assembled a fantastic creative team and cast, creating a uniquely Ayrshire story. Jack and the Beanstalk runs from November 29 to January 5. Tickets can be purchased from The Gaiety Box Office, on 01292 288235 or online at www.thegaiety.co.uk

The Coo Shed, based on South Corton Farm in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, was opened in April 1927 as an ‘add-on’ the already successful and well established plant nursery, Corton Plants. The Coo Shed is already a popular destination for many with its warm and inviting interior. It is the ideal place for people to come and meet up with friends and family and enjoy delicious home-made food and mouth-watering cakes.
