A beer-lover from Glasgow has won a year supply of booze after completing an ultimate bar crawl - stretching over 800 miles.

Earlier this year, Tennent's created the ‘ViewPints’ map, a list of pubs and bars across the country with the most spectacular views to enjoy a pint of Tennent's.

Intrepid beer adventurer Drew Carter, 54, undertook the challenge to visit every location on the 'beer bucket list', becoming the first to achieve the fear in just two months.

Drew was accompanied by his partner Mel Gardner and mascot Seve Ballesteros the dog - travelling more than 830 miles by campervan, train, taxi and ferry to complete the task.

He won a year's supply of Tennent's -  consists of 1 x 24 pack of lager per month for 12 months.

Drew said: “I grew up in Bishopbriggs but worked out of Scotland for more than 25 years.

"I moved back to Glasgow in April 2017 so when I read about the challenge, I thought it would be a fantastic way to rediscover my homeland.

“I’ve always been a Tennent’s drinker, and despite my dad Ian having a crate on hand every time I returned home, I missed it while I was out of the country.

"So, for me, it was a fantastic way to get reacquainted. Plus, drinking lager to win lager, that just made sense to me!"

Among the breathtaking stops was the Clansman Hotel, Cullen Bay, The Jura Hotel, The Douglas in Arran and, of course, Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow.

James Hughes, Tennent’s brand manager, said: “We launched the ViewPints map to inspire and challenge beer drinkers to get out and see Scotland like never before.

"We were so excited to hear from Drew and see his and Mel’s journey across land and sea to take in all 15 bars.

"It’s an impressive feat so congratulations to them both!

“We hope Drew’s travels encourage others to get out there and take in our beautiful country, and we still have four prizes of a year’s supply of beer to be won for those next to complete the nationwide pint pilgrimage.”

Keen travellers who want to follow in Drew’s footsteps simply need to tag @TennentsLager in a picture on Instagram of themselves with a can or pint they’ve bought at the bar outside every pub on the map using #viewpints.
