KIND HEARTED members of The Ladies Golf Club Troon teed off for charity this year to raise thousands for Hansel.

The golfers presented a cheque for £2,535.44 this week after a series of fundraisers included a Charity Day Golf Match and three bridge parties.

The charity, a leading social care provider, was backed by the golfers and nominated by club captain Valerie McColl.

Valerie, who has been a member of the Hansel supper group, said: “As captain of The Ladies Golf Club Troon it is a tradition to choose a charity for the year and I have been a member of the Hansel Supper Group for many years and always admired the great work that Hansel does.”

Charity bosses were delighted with the funds raised which will go towards to offering a range of services to people living with a range of abilities.

Agnes Paton, Fundraising & Communications Manager, said: “We are so grateful for this extremely generous donation from The Ladies Golf Club – every penny will be put to very good use.

“It never fails to amaze me that there are so many good people in Ayrshire who bend over backwards to help others and I know it maybe an overused cliché but it really will transform lives.”

Hansel provides a hub of care from its base in Symington, including small group living residential accommodation.

Supported living, short breaks, respite care, employment opportunities and supports, and transition support services, including young people living within the autistic spectrum.”
