A WORKER from a local dementia friendly organisation has been recognised with a national award.
Julie Twaddell from Dementia Friendly Prestwick was presented with her Path’s for All award last week at a ceremony at the Scottish Parliament.
Julie was awarded as Dementia Friendly Volunteer of the Year for her work.
She said: “It’s supposedly hard to make new friends when you’re in your 40s. I’m lucky to have met some wonderful people who are very special to me.
“The walks and the people on them have been a huge support to me, and they are a joy to be a part of.”
The group’s walks are on every Monday morning from 11am until 12.30pm, starting at Grangemuir Road and finishing at the Parkstone Hotel.
