Police have confirmed a man was charged after allegedly exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl and asking her for sex in Ayr.
Concerns around an incident shown in a video on social media site Twitter prompted Police Scotland to release a statement.
A 39-year-old man appeared at court charged under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act over the crime last month.
A 90 second video clip of the alleged incident was published on social media site Twitter and shows a man making indecent comments to a teenage girl.
She repeatedly says that she is 15 but the man shown in the video makes proposals of a sexual nature.
He then appears to expose himself to her before walking away.
Police have now confirmed the incident, which happened in Ayr.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We are aware of public concerns relating to a video circulating on social media.
"On May 16, a 39-year-old Ayr man was arrested and charged in relation to an offence under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act regarding the incident.
"He was held for court and a full report sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
