GOLFERS are being urged to get into the swing for a landmark event next month.

The 25th annual Hansel Golf Day is being staged at Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club on Thursday, May 2.

This sporting event is always popular with the charity’s many supporters and it will certainly be a special occasion in its 25th anniversary year.

Organisers hope you will gather your work colleagues, corporate guests, friends and family together for a great day of golf.

Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club just outside Troon is described as “a hidden gem”. The club has been offering golfers a magnificent links golf challenge in Ayrshire since 1887.

The course is an Open Championship Final Qualifying venue with some of the best maintained greens in Scotland. With a train station on site providing regular links to Glasgow and Ayr, this Scottish seaside golf course will offers challenging fairways and a great day of golf whilst supporting Hansel.

The format is a Fourball Stableford Competition with the best two scores counting at each hole.

Prizes will also include the Best Stableford Individual score, first, second and third team scores and prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin. There should also be a Beat the Pro challenge hole. The maximum handicap is 18 for men and 24 for ladies.

The day starts at 8am with a choice of breakfast rolls before teeing off with Participants are invited for a refreshment in the 19th hole before enjoying a hot three course buffet lunch, raffle, auction and prize giving.
