AARON Campbell told social workers he had to “zip his mouth shut” during the Alesha MachPhail murder trial to stop from laughing.
He also said he was “satisfied” with the murder, describing it as “a moment of opportunity”.
The 16-year-old was locked up for a minimum of 27 years at the High Court in Glasgow today after finally confessing to the rape and murder of six-year-old Alesha.
His sentence hearing was the first ever in the UK to be live streamed.

Campbell said he was “mildly amused” at the time it took police to catch him.
The perverted teen said “all I thought about was killing her once I saw her”, the court heard.
He said he was “entertained by rape” and told psychologists it “took everything” to stop him from laughing during the trial.
Campbell revealed that as he carried her to her death, Alesha asked him who he was, and where they were going.

“All I thought about was killing her once I saw her.”
Campbell described how the child was “drowsy” as he stole her from her bed, but began to wake up once outside.
The judge continued: “At one point, she asked you who you were and where you were going.
“You said you were a friend of her father’s, and were taking her home.”
Lord Matthews described Campbell as “callous, cold and dangerous”.
He said Alesha’s family would have enjoyed every day of their three-week holiday together, and her mother would have been looking forward to seeing her smiling face.
Before the sentence was handed down, Toni-Louise McLachlan left the courtroom in tears.
As Campbell was led down to the cells, Alesha’s mother, Georgina Lochrane, shouted “f******g disgusting vile little rat”.
