A COMMUNITY cafe set up to help people with additional support needs get into work and combat social isolation held its official opening last week.
The New Beginnings Cafe situated in the Salvation Army building in Townhead opened in December, running Wednesdays to Fridays from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
The project is part of the Cornerstone Foundation, with café staff are supported through Shared Lives; a highly personalised alternative to residential and other forms of care and support.
It offers eligible individuals needing support a model of care that is based on sharing a family home in the local community.
