SOUTH Scotland MSP Colin Smyth has welcomed the return of the full timetabled rail service between Stranraer and Ayr Train Stations.
Colin Smyth MSP said: “This news will be welcomed by passengers who rely on the route for work and by those who will use the train line to travel over the festive period.
"It is essential that South Ayrshire Council and ScotRail continue to work closely together to ensure that contingency plans remain in place for services on the Stranraer to Glasgow train line."
Mr Smyth also hopes there will be no further repair work needing done that will upset the public. He added: "Any further disruption to train services as a result of future work needing to be done at the Ayr station hotel would be completely unacceptable. Passengers have suffered enough from the loss of services".
