A SHOP in Ayr has been home to a little robin for over a decade where it has nested in its roof.
Dobbies Garden Centre on Holmston Road has been happy to house the bird which flys around and makes noise for all their customers to hear, even at busy times.
It feeds itself from a bag of seeds in the shop and even understands the mechanics of the shop’s electronic doors. When shoppers activate the doors, the robin knows that’s its signal to fly outside for a while.
Local shopper Catriona McGeough said: “It must have been there for at least a decade. Fair play to Dobbies for putting up with him.
“It’s very atmospheric and shoppers are always looking up to see where the cheeping is coming from.”
