NOCTURNAL creatures were very much to the fore when Friends of Fullarton organised a Bat and Moth walk in Fullarton Woods.

More than 50 people attended the event, all armed with torchlights and bug id cards.

The weather was kind and they managed to identify a few bats and other night time creatures.

This event was hosted by the Friends, supported by Scottish Wildlife Trust expert knowledge and partly funded by the Greggs Foundation. Our next community event will be Christmas Wreath Decorating on Sunday, December 2, but before then th ey have some more fundraising to do and will be bag packing in Morrisons on November 17, for which volunteers are required.

The Friends have also been very busy installing a new wheelchair-friendly picnic bench, basket swing, and a community noticeboard - all funded through Troon Locality Decides. They also have been giving some much needed tlc to the park benches and smugglers trail signposts.
