AN AUTISM hour awareness campaign has been supported by local Ayr shop, Toytown.
The campaign encourages shops to be more autism friendly by undertaking procedures that can help autistic individuals have a more pleasurable experience while shopping.
Speaking after the event, Sharon Barbour at Toytown Ayr explained how important it is to raise awareness for events like this.
She said: “The hour was successful has and hopefully helped people have a more comfortable shopping experience as well as highlight some points on how sensory overload can affect people with Autism.
“We understand toy stores can be overwhelming to people who suffer from sensory overload due to all the bright colours and sound.”
Toytown’s next autism friendly even takes place on Sunday, October 21 at 11am.
