NOCTURNAL creatures were very much to the fore when Friends of Fullarton organised a Bat and Moth walk in Fullarton Woods.
More than 50 people attended the event, all armed with torchlights and bug ‘ID’ cards.
The weather was kind and they managed to identify a few bats and other night time creatures.
This event was hosted by the Friends, supported by Scottish Wildlife Trust expert knowledge and partly funded by the Greggs Foundation.
The next community event will be a Christmas Wreath Decorating session on Sunday, December 2, but before then they have some more fundraising to do and will be bag packing in Morrisons on November 17, for which volunteers are required.
The friends have also been very busy installing a new wheelchair-friendly picnic bench, basket swing, and a community noticeboard - all funded through Troon Locality Decides.
They also have been giving some much needed ‘TLC’ to the park benches and smugglers trail signposts.
