After its unveiling last month, the Nicky Hopkins Memorial Bench now takes pride of place in Perivale Park, Ealing.

Rock star Hopkins, from Perivale, worked with some of the biggest names in music from the 1960's to 90's including the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Ella Fitzgerald and more.

The bench is vibrant, reflecting Nicky's remarkable personality, and bears the pattern of a piano.

Crowdfunded through PledgeMusic, £6,500 was raised from 67 pledges with £2,000 donated to the Royal Academy of Music, where Nicky won a scholarship.

The September 8 unveiling ceremony was attended by Moira Hopkins, Nicky's widow, who flew all the way from Nashville to be there.

The Mayor of Ealing, Cllr Tejinder Singh Dhami, was also present as was Perivale councillor Cllr Tariq Mahmood.
