A NEW mutli-play tower was officially opens on Ayr Seafront.
Children from St John’s Primary School were the first to try out the new structure that was officially opened on Wednesday, August 22, after the previous play tower was demolished due to ‘health and safety risks’ – it was in place for some 23 years.
With rope ramps, a climbing wall, tunnels and extra colourful lookout towers, the £260,000 project is hoped to be an ‘instant hit’.
Cllr Ian Cochrane said: “The new tower has been taking shape over a number of weeks and I know children are desperate for it to open.
“Ayr seafront play area has always proved very popular and I’m sure the new tower will entertain locals and visitors for many years to come.”
