AYR was featured in the recent episode of The People’s History Show.
Aired on Monday, August 13, the programme featured St John’s Tower, which is the oldest standing building in the town.
The tower is all that remains from the original parish church, built in the late 12th century which was once the site of a Parliament inaugurated by Robert the Bruce.
