A NEW giant inflatable was launched at the Quay Zone last week.
On Friday, August 3, some 30 children attended the Quay Zone Community Leisure Centre in Girvan to try out the new arrival, which was made possible through South Carrick Decides.
Managed by South Carrick Community Leisure, the local charity and enterprise group were ‘delighted’ to have received the funding through the area’s participatory budgeting event.
A spokeswoman for the Quay Zone, said: “First on the new slide where those lucky young people who had been participating in the Centre’s New ‘Rookie Lifeguard Courses’ which have been running through the summer.
“They took up the challenge of traversing across this new extra-long inflatable assault course with ‘Swing of Destiny’ and ‘Slide to the Deep’ challenges as well as lots more.
“The Quay Zone would like to thank the public and the funders who have made this possible and look forward to welcoming many more to take up the Giant Inflatable Challenge.
“The Giant Inflatable will have a session every month, but extra sessions are taking place just now during the school holidays and will run until August 19.”
