THREE siblings from Girvan were presented with their Youth Achievement Awards in Z1 Youth Bar.

William McEwan was presented with his Platinum Award, Gabby McEwan, Silver and Russell McEwan, Bronze by Ian McLaughlan Chief Executive of Youth Scotland.

All three were supported to complete their awards through Girvan Youth Trust and they are already inspiring and motivating other young volunteers to work towards similar youth awards.

Ian was able to congratulate William further as he was the 50,000th young person to receive a youth award from Youth Scotland.

Ian said: “It was an honour and a joy to present Youth Achievement Awards to three members of #TeamMcEwan at Z1 Youth Bar.

“What a privilege to present Youth Scotland’s 50,000th Youth Award to William McEwan. A worthy recipient of his Platinum Youth Achievement Award. Well done one and all.”

Youth Achievement Awards follow a Plan-Do-Review process and offer young people the opportunity to set themselves targets, to increase their skills, to work alongside others and to develop essential social skills, as well as gaining formal recognition and accreditation through the SQA for their achievements.

Each level of the Youth Achievement Award recognises the different levels of responsibility taken by the young people who take part and these awards are suitable for young people aged 14+.

Dynamic Youth Awards are also offered for the younger age group, aged 10+

Gabby and Russell have already progressed onto their next level of their awards.
