SOUTH Ayrshire Paths Initiative, a community group dedicated to the promoting walking and cycling routes, are developing The Culzean Way.
The organisation, which was set up nine months ago to lobby for better paths throughout Troon, Ayr and Girvan are currently working on a route which passes Culzean Castle.
Ron Ireland, who helped set up the group, said: “The Troon group is very active. We are trying to concentrate on paths from Ayr to the castle and then onto Girvan.
“We need support for our proposal. The Culzean Way is a path for walkers, joggers and cyclists of all abilities, including those in a wheelchair and others pushing a pram.”
Their dream is to allow locals and visitors to walk or cycle along the beautiful and rugged South Ayrshire coastline from Greenan Castle to Dunure.
They want to the path to continue onwards to Culzean Castle and beyond to Maidens, Turnberry and Girvan We, and everyone we have talked to so far, want to turn this dream into reality.
