A MAN was due to appear in court charged with allegedly driving the wrong way down a street in Ayr, four times the drink drive limit.
It is claimed that at 12.45am on Sunday, January 7 the 38-year-old was driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra on New Bridge Street but failed to obey a ‘no right turn’ sign.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands, he was stopped by police and failed the roadside breath test, where he was found to be more than four times the legal limit.
It is believed that he did not have a clear view of the road as his windows and windscreen were covered by frost.
He was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, January 8.
