GIRVAN 2

CLYDEBANK 2

A GIRVAN side who were missing a host of players picked up another point in an entertaining match at Holm Park which could have gone either way.

The visitors opened the scoring in five minutes Michael Reilly had a shot parried by the keeper but he picked up the rebound and fed the ball to

Robert Patterson who netted from six yards.

Midway through the half, Patterson had a chance to add a second but the goalie saved his effort.

In 40 minutes Clydebank had a chance but Hunter cleared for a corner.

Right on the interval Clydebank were awarded a penalty when Jordan Shelvey

went down in the area and Josh Watt gave Scott Johnston no chance from the spot.

Girvan started the second half on the front foot and went ahead again in 49 minutes when Michael Reilly crossed the ball and Craig Reid smashed the

ball into the roof of the net.

Scott Dinwoodie sent Paterson through in 67 minutes and the little striker hit the post.

Eleven minutes later, Patterson beat two defenders and squared to Reilly but a defender cleared the ball.

Clydebank drew level 19 minutes from time when Shelvey cleverly turned Michael Mossie in the penalty area and shot home.

Three minutes from the end Clydebank had a chance but the shot flew inches wide. Johnston produced a fine save a minute later to deny Clydebank the winner.

Right on time Paul Cameron saw his shot hit the post and the rebound was cleared.
