GIRVAN 1

KILBIRNIE LADESIDE 2

LADESIDE won the second meeting of the sides in the Premier Division. However the home side battled hard and were unlucky not to take something from the game.

Girvan had the first chance in 15 minutes, but Robert Paterson's lob was saved by the home goalie

Kilbirnie opened the scoring on the half hour when David Anderson hit the woodwork with a shot and John Sweeney netted the rebound.

Kilbirnie added a second goal five minutes before the interval after a home

player picked up the ball, beat two defenders and netted.

Paul Cameron created a chance for himself but the Kilbirnie keeper saved his effort.

Substitute Darren Mitchell pulled a goal back for Girvan in 70 minutes, picking up a Jack McDowall cross and netting.

Try as they might Girvan could not find the equaliser and Kilbirnie returned to North Ayrshire with the points.
