by Matt Speirs

DESPITE giving away a two-goal lead in the first half, Troon were never in any real danger of losing this match.

Eight minutes later it was two 2-0 when Jack Paterson cut the ball back to Dale Shirkie who drove it into the net.

Shettleston were reduced to 10 men in 31 minutes, Craig Johnstone receiving a straight red card.

A minute later Mate Laczi pulled a goal back for Shettleston with a lovely finish from a Nolan pass.

The sides were level six minutes later McIntosh heading in the equaliser.

Two minutes after the interval Troon regained the lead, Scott McLean netting from a narrow angle.

McLean was ordered off on the hour after being receiving a second booking for simulation.

Eight minutes later Shettleston were reduced to nine men when Kieran Lynch was ordered off for a high challenge.

Seven minutes from time veteran Dean Keenan made the points safe with a trademark free-kick.

Right on the full time whistle Scott Chatham added a fifth goal for Troon, who have now won three straight games since losing to Irvine Meadow in their opener.
