TROON gave away a two goal lead in this thrilling match at wet and windy Portland Park.

The hosts started the better and put the Meadow defence under some pressure without creating any clearcut chances.

The nearest Troon came to scoring was in 20 minutes when Ross Barbour set up Scott McLean but he shot into the side net.

Six minutes later Troon should have went ahead when a shot from Jack Paterson was charged down but Mark Curragh shot high over the bar.

Meadow won a free-kick 20 yards out on the half hour but Ben Carson's set-piece was saved by Ally McInnes.

Troon took the lead on the half hour when Paterson chased a ball to the bye line and cut in to shoot across keeper Shaun Newman into the net.

Two minutes from the interval Eddie McTernan turned a defender on the edge of the box, but his shot was saved by Ally McInnes.

A free- kick to Troon a minute before the interval some 30 yards from goal was driven low past the wall by Dean Keenan but hit the post and rebounded clear.

Troon doubled their led two minutes after the interval, McLean firing low into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Six minutes later McLean sent an inviting cross across the six yard box but Curragh and Paterson could not get on the end of it.

Two minutes later Rhys Devlin sent in a fine shot which was turned over the bar by Ally McInnes, When the corner came in the referee spotted an infringment in the penalty area and awarded Meadow a penalty which skipper Ben Carson netted.

With 15 minutes remaining Meadow drew level a sweeping move down the right opened up the Troon defence and Carson netted his second goal of the match.

Five minutes from the end another Keenan free-kick was punched to safety by Newman.

Meadow's comeback was completed two minutes from time when an inviting cross from the right found substitute Aaron Connolly at the back post and he coolly

netted.
