ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 0

MAYBOLE 1

MAYBOLE'S game plan helped them defeat promotion-chasing Rovers in a hard-fought match at Winton Park.

The hosts went on the attack from the start and in six minutes a long range shot from skipper Ryan Caddis hit the bar and was cleared.

Two minutes later a Maybole corner was picked up by Winton's Andy McGregor who burst up the field, but his final ball let him down.

The most danger the visitors came from set-pieces and a free-kick from Ryan Caddis was pushed away by Elliot Masterson and his follow-up save from Donaldson was

excellent.

After the interval, Maybole began to dictate the game more, with Craig Brown dominating proceedings and from one of his efforts John Mullen produced an

outstanding save.

Late in the game Tommy Sloan pulled down Bobby Colligan just outside the penalty area but Caddis sent the free-kick wide.

Maybole were still pushing forward and five minutes from the end Gavin Scott hit the post with John Mullen beaten.

With a minute left Maybole got the winner when Brown cleverly chipped the ball

over the defence and ran on to square the ball to Gavin Scott who netted from close range.

MAYBOLE: Masterson, Sloan, Baird, Warren, Peacock, Bloye, Brown, Bell, Nimmo, Scott, McMillan. Subs: Dunn, Walker, Dempsey, Allan.

GIRVAN 2

KILSYTH RANGERS 2

GIRVAN conceded a last minute goal in an entertaining match at Hamilton Park after having set up a two-goal lead in the first half.

The scoring was opened in 19 minutes when Michael Reilly crossed for James Hilton to net at the near post.

With 35 minutes on the clock Girvan doubled their advantage a Tony Murphy shot diverted to Robert Paterson and he shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Kilsyth had the best possible start in the second half, pulling a goal back right from the kick-off, when Prentice crossed for McBride to head the ball into the net.

On the hour Girvan had a chance to add a third goal, but John Frame saw his header cleared off the line.

Five minutes later Reilly lobbed the keeper but his effort drifted wide of the post.

Scott Johnston then produced two fine saves to keep Girvan in front.

With time running out Kilsyth forced a corner and when the ball came in it fell to a Kilsyth player who netted from close range.

GIRVAN: Johnston; Reid, Doolan, McCreadie, Frame, Dinwoodie, Murphy, Auld, Reilly, Paterson, Hilton. Subs: Stevenson, Jardine, Ballantyne, Robertson.
