FIRED-up Troon are looking to defeat Kilwinning Rangers in a crunch relegation clash at Abbey Park on Saturday.

The Seasiders were without a game on Saturday as their scheduled home friendly against Girvan was called off owing to a waterlogged pitch.

But they will be looking to build on their last game, which saw them defeat Glenafton Athletic 3-0 away in the New Coin Holdings West of Scotland Cup.

Troon are looking to beat the drop and manager Gordon Burns is hopeful they can do it.

He told Sportscene: "This is our biggest game of the season so far. Kilwinning are off the back of a very good result in the Scottish Junior Cup, beating one of the favourites Kelty Hearts away. We beat them at Portland Park earlier in the season and our aim is to go out and win the game. They have some good players, like Ben Lewis upfront and Ian Cashmore is still scoring goals. It's a short trip and hopefully we will get a good support and some neutrals might also head along and watch the game. We have five games left - one at home and four away but I am confident we can get out of the bottom three. The performance against Glenafton gave us a big lift."

Dale Keenan is sidelined for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament trouble but there are no other injury problems.
