MAYBOLE were without skipper Andy Stevenson who has a broken hand but welcomed back Steven Shankland from suspension for this important match.

Easrly6 play was pretty even with neither side carrying a goal threat.

Kilsyth opened the scoring in 25 minutes, netting from a tight angle.

In 35 minutes the visitors came close when Stewart Peacock saw his header rebound from the bar and a follow- up header by John Frame also hit the bar and the ball was then cleared off the goal-line.

Right on half- time Maybole equalised when a corner-kick was cleared to James Cuthbertson who played in Michael Reilly and his shot was diverted into the net.

Ten minutes after the interval, Grant Weir produced a great save but the ball ell kindly for Kilsyth and they scored from an acute angle.

Steven Shankland had a chance to level the match but headed wide.

With 15 minutes left, Peacock played in Steven Shankland but the big striker shot straight at the keeper.

DALRY THISTLE 0

ANNBANK, at home for the first time since October, ran out comfortable winners to complete the double against Dalry this season.

The first half was a poor affair, with Thistle slightly ahead in terms of possession but never really threatening the Annbank goal.

There was more entertainment in the second half which began brightly and Bankies took the in 52 minutes. Declan Lavan setting up Sean Robertson who shot across the keeper and into the net.

With 20 minutes left it was game over as Dalry goalie Brian Hewitt handled the ball outside the box and was ordered off. Gordon Wilson stepped up and drove home the resultant free-kick.

With 11 minutes left a ball through the middle saw Sean Robertson beat the keeper to the ball and slotted the ball into the net.

GIRVAN continued their push for promotion with a hard- fought victory against Craigmark.

But they had goalkeeper Steven Douglas to thank for making saves at crucial times.

The first chance fell to home player Robert Paterson in 10 minutes but his shot hit the post and glanced wide.

Five minutes later came the first of the home goalie's saves when he stopped a point blank shot to deny Craigmark the opening goal.

Chris Allan almost broke the deadlock in 17 minutes but his shot rebounded from the crossbar to safety.

Three minutes later Allan opened the scoring when he bent a free-kick round the wall and into the net.

Girvan doubled their lead in 27 minutes. David Jardine was sent tumbling in the box and Paterson netted from the penalty spot. On the half hour Douglas denied Craigmark with a full length diving save at the expense of a corner.

Craigmark started the second half brightly and pulled a goal back in 62 minutes, Grant Kelly netting from eight yards.

Eight minutes later, Girvan increased their lead when Jardine effort was blocked and the ball fell kindly for Paterson who netted from six yards. The scoring was complete two minutes from time when Tony Murphy netted from almost the bye-line.
