CLARK Drive Girls U13s on Sunday travelled to Rutherglen to take on the Glasgow side.

With both teams doing well in the league everyone was anticipating a close game.

Drive started really well with some great passing and it was no surprise when Aimee Taggart burst through and slotted the ball game.

This seemed to waken awaken Rutherglen who were soon putting the Drive defence under pressure although the visitors were handling it well. However but just on half-time Rutherglen equalised.

It looked ominous in the second half for the Drive girls who were playing into a very strong wind and against an undefeated home side.

But to their credit they turned in their performance of the season after the break, scoring six goals without reply.

Megan Colvin looked unbeatable in goals after the break and Morgan Wilkie and Caitlin McMillan were immense, snuffing out any danger.

Erin Kerr moved into central midfield and dictated the pace of the game with her passing and vision superb.

Olivia Wearing came on and played wide right and was in great form, winning tackles and was always a thorn in the side of the home defence.

Jemma Bruce, who played left, turned in her best display of the season, tearing the Rutherglen defence to shreds down the left.

Haylie Ann Hoy came on and she held the ball up superbly. Her layoffs were brilliant.

Linking up well with her in were Isla and Aimee always looked find a team-mate and Brooke Thomson, although carrying a slight injury never gave the Rutherglen defence a minute.

Holly Niven came on and was her usual tidy self.

Scorers were Jemma Bruce (four), Isla Easton, Aimee Taggart and Brooke Thomson.
