JUST GOOD FRIENDS: Brian Reid, left, with the club's favourite panda

WITH the January transfer windows fast approaching, the Panda Pals 1000 campaign is hoping to drive the total amount raised from an impressive £6,606 as close to £10,000 as possible.

The initiative which purchases Panda Pal season tickets for free issue to young fans under 12 years old, is hoping to give Ayr United boss Brian Reid a player fund boost to help the club launch a real championship title drive in the second half of the season.

Campaign spokesman Mark Pettigrew said; "We'd really like to thank everyone who's donated to date. In the current climate it's fantastic that we've raised the amount we have so far."

Find out why manager Brian Reid is so grateful to the scheme as well as the latest news from Somerset Park in this week's paper
