AYR United midfield ace Alan Trouten is seeking revenge against form team Peterhead in an important League One clash at Somerset Park on Saturday.

United went down 3-0 at Balmoor on December 19 and drew 2-2 with the Blue Toon earlier in the season.

They were out out of action on Saturday after high winds forced the postponement of the home clash with Stenhousemuir at Somerset Park.

Trouten says the players are raring to go again and told Sportscene: "It was frustrating not playing on Saturday but conditions were poor and it was the right decision. It has been stop-start for us recently with a couple of other games called off but we look forward to Saturday. It's only February and there's a long way to go. We want to keep challenging the team at the top and hopefully we can put pressure on Dunfermline, who lost on Friday night. Peterhead beat us last time because they ,mastered the windy conditions. But we are looking to make amends and take three points. We want to win as many games as we can and see where that takes us."

Manager Ian McCall is expecting a tough test on Saturday and said: "Peterhead are the form team in the league right now and are in the race for the Championship. It will be a hard game for us but we are at home and will be looking to take three points."

United will almost certainly have Brian Gilmour, Robbie Crawford, Jamie Adams and Gerry McLauchlan back from injury for the match.

Paddy Boyle and Ross Docherty are both recovering well but only rated 50-50" by the manager to make it."
