FOUR South Ayrshire rugby players are in the Scotland U20 squad for this year's Six Nations Championship.

Scotland U20 Head Coach Stevie Scott last Thursday named his line-up.

The 28-man squad consists of 16 forwards and 12 backs, 24 of whom are set to make their debut at this level.

Included are Marr scrum-half Kaleem Baretto and Ayr stand-off Paddy Dewhirst, hooker Robbie Smith and centre Stafford McDowall.

The quartet are among 10 players who have progressed through the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy.

The 10 young guns are:

Prop - Shaun Gunn (Edinburgh Accies); prop - Finn Hobbis (Watsonians); hooker - Robbie Smith (Ayr); second row - Jamie Hodgson (Watsonians); back-row - Archie Erskine (Boroughmuir); scrum-half - Kaleem Baretto (Marr); stand-off - Paddy Dewhirst (Ayr); centre - Stafford McDowell (Ayr); stand-off Ross Thompson (Glasgow Hawks) and winger Sam Yawayawa (Glasgow Hawks).

The young Scots kick-off in Wales on Friday, February 2.
