ARTHURLIE 1

GIRVAN 1

BATTLING Girvan picked up another valuable point at Dunterlie Park against Arthurlie.

The first fell to the visitors in four minutes when Michael Reilly picked the ball up in his own half, beat a couple of players and brought

a fine save from the Arthurlie keeper.

Midway through the half Arthurlie took the lead when a looping shot from 20 yards flew over visiting goalie Scott Johnston and landed in the back of the net.

The sides were level two minutes later when a Robert Paterson corner-kick was played back

out to him and his cross was headed into the net by Stevie O'Donnell.

Craig Reid saw his cross in 38 minutes headed against the bar and

cleared as Girvan tried to get back into the match.

In 51 minutes, Robert Paterson had a chance to put Girvan ahead, but shot straight at the keeper.

Eleven minutes later, a one-two between Andy Hunter and Darren Mitchell saw the later shoot just wide.

Arthurlie won a free-kick in 66 minutes in a promising position, but the cross was headed over the bar.

A minute later Robert Paterson sent an inviting ball across the face of goal but their were no takers.
