TROON picked up a deserved point in an entertaining match with Glencairn in Glasgow.
Glencairn started with a bang and opened the scoring in two minutes when Stewart Hall crossed and Gary Smith glanced a header into the net.
Troon went in search of a quick equaliser and it took a good save in the
seventh minute by Jack Baker to cut out a Scott McLean cross.
The sides were level a minute later when a McLean shot was diverted into the path of Dean Fulton who turned the ball into the net.
Troon almost went ahead in 20 minutes when a Scott Chatham header from a Steven McCreadie cross drifted wide.
A Scott McLean free-kick in 26 minutes beat the wall and the keeper but rebounded from the post.
Glencairn went ahead again on the half hour when a corner-kick from the left was
headed into the net by Jordan Leyden.
Troon were dealt a blow in 42 minutes when Evan Maley was injured and had to be replaced by James Lamont.
Midway through the second half, Baker produced a fine save from Chatham.
Keeper Jamie McGowan kept his side in the match with a fine save from Jay McKay.
Two minutes later, the sides were when McLean shot across keeper James Baker and into the corner of the net.
In injury time a Chatham shot was diverted wide of target as it ended deadlocked.
