ANNBANK UNITED 2
ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 5
WINTON proved too strong for Annbank and deserved their victory although the
final result was helped by the dismissal of Bankies goalie Marc Fisher.
First chance fell to Winton in eight minutes but Marc Fisher turned an Andy McGregor effort over the bar for a corner.
Annbank took the lead a minute later when McLean Simpson cut in and sent a vicious shot into the net, giving the Winton keeper no chance.
The lead however only lasted three minutes new signing Tom Donovan netted with a drive from the edge of the penalty area.
Dillan Dunn had a spectacular overhead kick ten minutes later but the ball landed on the roof of the net.
Tom Donovan was causing all sort of problems for the Bankies defence and it was no surprise when he put Winton ahead on the half hour. Marc Fisher failed to hold a shot and Donovan latched on to the loose ball and netted.
Nine minutes later Donovan turned provider sending a nice cross into the box and Jamie McKenna scored with a diving header.
Annbank pulled a goal back in 53 minutes when McLean Simpson crossed to the unmarked Dillon Dunn, who drove the ball into the net.
Any chance of getting something from the match disappeared in 80 minutes when Marc Fisher was ordered off for handling the ball outside the area.
Winton took advantage of the man advantage and McKenna added two further goals.
