TWO Ayr horse riders are celebrating victories at a prestigious showjumping event.

Lucy Rennie lined up in the 0.95m event in the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in Broxburn, West Lothian.

The event drew a large number of competitors, with 55 combinations coming forward to compete across the 0.95m and 1.10m Second Rounds.

Qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool from November 14 to 19 was in everyone’s sights.

Taking home second place with a double clear was Natasha Brown from Airdrie on board her six-year-old grey mare, Goldie I. This partnership crossed the finish line in 47.79 seconds.

Isla Stewart from Ayr, secured third place with Lucinda Stewart’s nine-year-old bay gelding, Burtons Rising Star. This combination stopped the clock on a double clear in 48.35 seconds.
